It is one of the world's best methods of detoxification, and the results are no less than transformational.

TREATMENT PLAN

The detoxification journey

Your detoxification journey will begin with a thorough consultation with one of our expert Ayurvedic doctors who will tailor the package according to your body-mind condition and constitution. This treatment will be closely supervised by our expert Ayurvedic Doctors and Therapists. The Panchakarma treatment is divided into three stages - Pre Treatment, Main Treatment and Post Treatment:

Purva Karma (Pre-Treatment)

Purvakarma comprises two types of preparatory treatments:

1.Snehana (internal and external oleation with natural herbal oils)

Snehana is the process of oleation of the body by using medicated oils and ghee externally and consumption as well.

2.Swedana (sudation or steam therapy).

Swedana is steam treatment.swedanais the process of inducing sweat with the help of steam, generated from medicated herbal decoctions.Swedana is a procedure done to stimulate your sweat glands to increase perspiration and circulation. It alleviates vitiated vata and kapha dosha. It helps to reduce pain, stiffness, heaviness, and coldness in your body.

During these treatments your excess Doshas are gradually encouraged to move from your limbs to the digestive tract (their proper site) from which they can be eliminated in Panchakarma.

Various Ayurvedic treatments are used in the Purva Karma stage, which are carefully decided by the Ayurvedic experts based on your body condition:

Pradhana Karma (Main - Treatments)

1.Vamana (Emesis)

Vamana is one of the five therapies of panchakarma in Ayurveda. Vamana is therapeutic vomiting which is a medicated emesis. This is an emesis treatment done through oral route to eliminate excess mucus by means of therapeutic vomiting and is recommended for patients suffering from chronic asthma, tonsillitis, anemia, chronic indigestion, sinus problems, cough and cold.   People suffering from edema, epilepsy, skin diseases, fever, loss of appetite and lymphatic obstruction can find this therapy beneficial.

This treatment is done for the aggravated Kapha dosha, which dislodges the toxins mainly from the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract.  The Kapha toxins accumulated in the body and the respiratory tract are effectively removed by Vamana.  Waste products and congestion are thus eliminated through the mouth.  After vomiting, the sinus is cleared, which in turn provides relief from congestion, wheezing and breathlessness.

Health problems commonly treated by Vamana therapy

Based on Ayurveda, Virechana can treat several health problems and uproot them, so that they do not occur again including:

  • Upper respiratory tract infection*
  • chronic indigestion*
  • sinus problems*
  • cough and cold*
  • Asthma*

Latest studies in the field of medical science suggest that certain symptoms of asthma can be cured by this highly effective form of Panchakarma.

In addition, the therapy is often administered to treat the following:

  • Odema
  • Loss of appetite*
  • Diabetes*
  • Obesity*

The procedure

The objective of Vamana therapy is to gently induce vomiting to get rid of the mucus that causes excess Kapha.   The person feels better after vomiting a few times.  This is followed with the internal administration of ghee treatment and a steam bath or warm shower. After performing Vamana therapy, the patient should take rest and not consume heavy food.  If Vamana is done properly, the person feels relaxed and able to breathe freely. Lightness in the chest is often experienced after undergoing the therapy. The person thinks clearly, develops a clear voice and good appetite. All the symptoms of congestion vanish away after the proper Vamana therapy.  The treatment can be easily done at home with proper understanding of the steps and the medicated drink being provided.

This is the simplest method of Panchakarma and has the most easily observed effects.  It is a safe procedure without side effects that can be easily be done at home with proper preparation and the right herbal formulas.

The treatment concentrates on the toxins that are accumulated in the liver and gall bladder. Along with advance preparation, this treatment is a flushing of the whole gastro-intestinal track with herbal laxatives.  This powerful treatment quickly reduces body heat (pitta); liver, gallbladder and colon congestion and helps improve rashes, itching, skin inflammation and acne while also improving digestion and boosting metabolism.

The procedure

Before the procedure, internal Oleation is followed for three to seven days to loosen toxins and prepare for the actual treatment.  Additionally, a light dosha specific diet is prescribed before the treatment.  However, certain factors like body and mind constitution, age of the person, digestive state should be considered, to properly design an effective Virechana therapy as there are many options.

Herbs used for Virechana aim at cleansing the sweat glands, small intestine, colon, stomach, liver and spleen.  A number of herbs are used for the therapy process, which serve as decongestants,  laxatives and purgatives.  Herbal purgative, salt or castor oil can also used for the initial treatment based on individual.  After the treatment, the patient then follows a restricted diet for 7 to 10 days to reestablish the digestive fire (Agni).

The benefits:

  1. Flushes out of the toxins and excess mucus from the GI tract and thus improves digestion.
  2. Clears congestion from the liver and thus improves metabolism and fat digestion.
  3. Relieves many gastro-intestinal disorders.

Herbal decoction and small amounts of oil are used to treat the ailments. This type of Basti karma is not suitable for malnourished and weak people or those suffering from tuberculosis, ascites, peritonitis, intestinal obstruction, dysentery, diabetes, skin diseases and asthma.

Oil Enema (Anuvasan Basti): Warm oil with small amounts of decoction is used in Anuvasan Basti. The treatment rejuvenates the body. People suffering from piles, obesity, intestinal worms, anemia and jaundice should not do Anuvasan Basti.

Nutritional enema (Bruhana Basti): This type of Enema is used for providing deep nutrition in select conditions. Traditionally, highly nutritive substances have been used, such as warm milk, meat broth, bone marrow soup and herbs like shatavari or ashwagandha.

Nasya treatment refers to an Ayurvedic therapy that includes instillation of herbal oils, juices or powders through the nasal route. It works specifically on disorders of ear, nose and throat. Nasya is one among the five Panchakarma therapies. It is especially desirable for diseases of parts above the base of the neck; nasal passage being the gateway of the head.

The procedure of Nasya

This is the main step of Nasya and includes instillation of luke warm medication in both the nostrils, alternately, with the help of proper instrument like dropper. The sole, shoulder, neck, ear and palm are gently massaged after the administration of the drug

How Does Nasya Treatment Work?

The medicaments administered through the nostrils pervade into the nervous (Brain) and venous system (Blood circulation) present in and around the nostrils. Then they evacuate the morbidity present or distributed in nearby area. Thus it relieves the blockage of the channels and the diseases are cured effectively. Medicated oils / juices / powders stimulate the vital centres of brain to overcome specific diseases. Nasya treatment does not cause any serious side effects when performed by an experienced therapist. However, it is recommended to not undergo Nasya After heavy meals or Shirodhara
